the largest local government greenhouse program in the world, with 206
councils now participating in a collaboration with the Australian Greenhouse
Office.
Alliances
are a collaborative learning approach for CCP Plus councils.
The first Alliance is on renewable energy, led by the city of Hornsby.
Sustainable
Transport is a focus for action by CCP
Councils being developed in conjunction with the Australian Greenhouse
Office and the VicHealth Foundation.
Communities for
Climate Protection® New Zealand is a
New Zealand Government initiative delivered by ICLEI-A/NZ. The
program is based on the international Cities for Climate Protection™
Campaign and now has 15 councils participating.

ICLEI-A/NZ Member and Participant Resource
ICLEI-A/NZ has released its annual Member
and Participant Opportunities 2005-06 report. The report outlines
the range of campaigns, programs and sustainability services offered by
ICLEI-A/NZ in the 2005-06 financial year. Every member and participant
council is listed in the report along with the ICLEI activities that they
are currently involved in.
ICLEI-A/NZ supports the 6th Asia Pacific Roundtable for
Sustainable Consumption and Production to be held in Melbourne, Australia

SA Local Greenhouse Action
Project Adelaide has recently released the SA
Local Greenhouse Action Report. The Report highlights the acheivements
and challenges of CCP Councils in SA. Project Adelaide is an ICLEI delivered
project in collaboration with Adelaide City Council, Capital City Commitee
Adelaide and the Government of South Australia, through the Office of
Sustainability, Department for Environment and Heritage.

ICLEI 2006 World Congress
Monday 27 February – Friday 3 March 2006
ICLEI is pleased to announce that the ICLEI 2006 World Congress will take
place in Cape Town, South Africa. This is the first time that the World
Congress will take place in the Southern Hemisphere, and the A/NZ Office
is looking forward to seeing many of their member and participant councils
attend and take part in the Congress.
